Cake:

  • 2 cups versatile flour
  • ½ teaspoon baking soda
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 cup light brown sugar
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • ½ teaspoon of nutmeg powder
  • 2 sticks (1 cup) butter (I always use salted butter)
  • 1 cup of water
  • ½ cup of yogurt
  • 2 large eggs, beaten
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla
  • 1½ cup Granny Smith apple peeled and chopped (about 2 medium sized apples)

Glaze:

  • 1 (1/2 cup) butter
  • ¼ cup of milk
  • 3 cups of powdered sugar
  • ¼ cup of caramel syrup (caramel ice cream layers)
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 400 degrees Fahrenheit. Lubricate with a non-stick spray on a 17 x 12 inch baking sheet. I’m waiting.
  2. Bun: In a large bowl, mix the flour together, baking soda, sugar, cinnamon and nutmeg. Combine them with whisk and sieve. I’m waiting.
  3. In a large saucepan, add butter and water over medium heat. Stir until the butter melts. Boil it, and as soon as it starts to boil, remove it from the heat and add the flour mixture. Stir and mix. Then add milk, eggs and vanilla extract. Chopped apples.
